Rest in Peace, Manute Bol. A happy man. The butt of too many easy jokes, who was actually a saint.

Manute Bol came to OU once, to speak to sports management students. I was in the Health and Human Services atrium, studying for an architectural history test, when the largest feet in the entire world passed me as I sat on the floor. I turned up to look and faced the tallest person I have ever, ever, ever seen (he’s 7’7”!). He smiled down at me, his face beaming with kindness, and said, “Excuse me, little man.”
You guys, Manute Bol called me little man and was cognizant of my well-being. He was also a respected activist who raised millions of dollars to aid Sudanese refugees. Rest in peace to a wonderful, wonderful human being.
